(UNDATED) - Middle class drivers in Indiana will feel a new gas tax the most.
Purdue researcher Larry DeBoer says Indiana lawmakers punched a hole in the state budget with income and inheritance tax cuts.
Now, he says, lawmakers want to fill it with a gas tax for roads.
DeBoer says middle class taxpayers buy more gas than they inherit money, and they will be the ones to feel the brunt of any new gas tax.
