(ATTERBURY) - A two-star general with the Indiana National Guard has retired.
Major General Ivan Denton, who served as commander at Camp Atterbury from 2012-2014, will transition to the U.S.
Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service in Washington D.C.
A native of Paoli, Denton began his service with the Indiana National Guard in 1982.
The Guard says Denton was one of 850 men to conduct a combat parachute assault on the International Airport in Panama during Operation Just Cause.
He also served in multiple assignments in Iraq.
