(VINCENNES) - Make America Funny Again” is the title of the temporary exhibit that illustrates Red Skelton’s relationship with many U.S. Presidents, including performing at seven birthday parties for Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The exhibit includes photos, personal correspondence, and a television interview with Skelton, all focused on ties with presidents of both parties.
The exhibit continues through March 31 at the Skelton Museum and includes a special President's Day reception on February 20 from 5-7 p.m. EST.
Skelton performed for eight U.S. presidents and three Roman Catholic Popes.
Skelton was born in Vincennes on July 18, 1913. His career spanned stage, movies, radio, and television.
Hours for the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and 12 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
It is located at 20 Red Skelton Blvd., adjacent to Vincennes University's Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.
