(STATEHOUSE) - A local graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Steve Davisson (R-Salem) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2017 legislative session.
Samuel Nein, a resident of Henryville, is the son of Timothy and Renea Nein. He is earning a degree from Indiana University Southeast where he is majoring in political science.
As a legislative intern, Nein corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails. He also helps staff committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"At the Statehouse, professionals like Samuel are essential to the work of the General Assembly and to the work I do to represent our local communities," Davisson said. "I encourage anyone interested in the opportunity to work alongside Indiana lawmakers to apply for next year's internship program."
The House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
