(VANDERBURGH) - Tuesday at approximately 9 p.m., Indiana State Trooper Taylor Fox stopped a vehicle on US 41 near St. George Road for speeding.
When Trooper Fox approached the vehicle he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and observed an open bottle of alcohol in the center console.
A young boy was in the back seat, restrained in a child safety seat. The driver 32-year-old Tabitha Cain, , of Fort Branch, was impaired and had a blood alcohol content of 0.21 percent.
She was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a passenger less than 18 years of age. She is currently being held on bond. Child Protective Services took custody of her son.
