(JEFFERSONVILLE) - A new southern Indiana museum is seeking donations to help with an exhibit on the tornado that ripped through the communities of Henryville and Marysville five years ago.
Clark County Museum board member Jeanne Burke says the site that opened recently in Jeffersonville has been designated the official repository of photos, documents and items related to the EF4 tornado by the disaster recovery group March2recovery.
Burke tells the News and Tribune that the exhibit will feature, among other things, items recovered after being blown from the area during the March 2, 2012, twister that had winds of 170 mph.
About $40,000 has been raised so far. Burke says the museum needs to secure another $11,000 by June 1 to have exhibits in place by the Aug. 1 target date.
