(VIGO CO.) - Thursday at 3:12 p.m., Indiana State Police Troopers from the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Team arrived at a residence at 10200 North Atherton Street to investigate community tips related to possible illegal drug activity.
During their investigation, troopers located numerous items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine as well as many items commonly used to smoke meth or other illicit drugs. A vast number of the items field tested positive for meth, but only trace amounts of the meth were found.
Police arrested 48-year-old Andy Mathers on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance. They also arrested 50-year-old Daryle Powers on charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth and visiting a common nuisance
Both were incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail.
The community plays a vital role in the suppression of illicit drugs. Anyone with information on the production of methamphetamine in the Putnamville District is urged to call the post at (765) 653-4114. Callers can remain anonymous.
The Putnamville District services the counties of Parke, Vermillion, Putnam, Clay, Vigo, and Clay.
