(OWEN CO.) - A Spencer woman was seriously injured after a crash on Tuesday night on State Road 46 East of Spencer at the intersection of Green Meadows Drive.
Indiana State Police were called to the scene just before 8 p.m.
According to police, 49-year-old Therese D. Hendershot was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on SR46 approaching Green Meadows Drive and failed to see an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck in front of her slow down to make a right turn.
Troopers believe Hendershot attempted to avoid collision by quickly applying the brakes at the last second, however this caused her motorcycle to skid out of control crashing into the rear of the Chevy S10, driven by 35-year-old Christina L Falk of Spencer.
Falk and her two juvenile passengers were not injured.
Flak called 911 and rendered initial first aid to Hendershot.
Hendershot, who suffered multiple injuries was airlifted to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis via Air Evac #39.
Trooper Randy Van Arsdale investigated the crash and was assisted by Trooper Ian Matthews and the Owen County Sheriff's Department.
