(OAKTOWN) - This morning at approximately 9:31 a.m., Indiana State Police and Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on U.S. 41 at Old U.S. 41 that killed two men and injured another driver.
The Knox County Coroner's Office has identified the driver and passenger killed as 70-year-old Stephen Hines and 63-year-old Ricky Hackle, both from Jasonville,
Investigating officers believe Hackle was driving and Hines was his passenger.
The driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan has been identified as 30-year-old Anayeli Camacho, of Oaktown. She was arrested for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a driver's license. She was taken to the Knox County Jail where she is currently being held on bond. Camacho will also be cited for failure to yield.
Preliminary investigation revealed Camacho was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on Old U.S. 41 when she failed to yield the right of way to a 2004 GMC Yukon that was traveling southbound on US 41.
After the two vehicles collided in the intersection, the Yukon GMC rolled and ejected both Hines and Hackle.
One male was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Coroner's Office and the other male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Camacho was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and was then arrested.
