(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources would like to thank all of the schools, classrooms, and individuals who participated in this year’s poster contest.
They would also like to thank their sponsors NIPSCO, Arbor Rangers, Davey Resource Group, Indiana Arborist Association and the Society of American Foresters Indiana Chapter for their support of the contest and the calendar.
Officials received dozens of terrific entries from across the State of Indiana; with 1,167 posters created.
The top 12 posters were announced at the beginning of April, and the public was given the opportunity to select the top three overall winners out of those 12 from across the State.
Each of the top 12 winners received 100 tree seedlings from our State Tree Seedling Nursery in Vallonia, and their artwork will be featured in a calendar slated to come out this July.
The top three winners will all have a tree planted in their honor at a public place within their community and a cash prize in the form of an amazon gift card. Their classrooms will be receiving a custom STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) kit that includes a $50 amazon gift-card. Top poster Teacher receives a scholarship to attend the Indiana Project Learning Tree Teachers Institute.
Officials encourage your school district, school, or classroom to participate in the 2018 contest.
