(TELL CITY) - Authorities say a badly decomposed body was pulled from a lake in rural southern Indiana over the weekend.
Perry County Sheriff Alan Malone says a person canoeing on Tipsaw Lake spotted the body and called police Saturday afternoon. The lake is in the Hoosier National Forest about 50 miles east of Evansville.
WFIE-TV reports the county coroner determined that the victim was a woman in her 50s but didn't immediately release the identification.
Malone asked that anyone with possible information about the death to contact police.
