(CELESTINE) - An elderly farmer was fatally injured after falling from a tractor Tuesday afternoon.
According to Dubois County police, deputies responded to the 911 call at 12:53 p.m. for the incident that occurred on the 3600 block of Schnellville Road.
According to police, 85-year-old Jerome Knies, of Jasper, had been operating a 1991 Ford/New Holland tractor in a field about 100 yards south of Schnellville Road when he fell from the equipment and was fatally injured.
Assisting at the scene were Celestine first responders, Memorial EMS, and the Dubois County Coroner Robert Veatch.
