(VAN BIBBER LAKE) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a two year-old Putnam County boy.
The boy was found in the water of Van Bibber Lake a few feet from the shore, shortly after 6:05 p.m.
A 911 call had been placed at 6 p.m. to the Putnam County Sheriff's Dispatch by the boy's mother to report him missing. The boy was found a few minutes later, unresponsive in the water. CPR was initiated and continued by family members until relieved by Putnam County medical personnel. The boy was transported to Putnam County Hospital by Medic 1 ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 6:57 p.m.
No further details are available at this time pending an investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m., Wednesday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
