(DECKER) - The investigation into last weeks’ death of John Doug Lowe in Decker has led to the arrests of two men for murder.
Police arrested 41-year-old Jeremy Schatz and 27-year-old Christopher Schatz, both of Princeton, on Sunday night on a charge of murder. Both are being held without bond.
Jeremy Schatz was arrested at the Knox County Sheriff's office, while Christopher Schatz was picked up in Hazleton.
No other details have been released.
Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive male at 411 3rd Street in Decker around 8:14 a.m. Wednesday. First responders arrived on the scene and found that 46-year-old John D. Lowe dead in the home. His funeral will be Tuesday.
Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen says an autopsy conducted Wednesday afternoon indicated that Lowe died from an injury he sustained, but wouldn't specify the nature of that injury.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Department are working directly with Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan.
The scene has been investigated by the Indiana State Police Crime Scene unit assisted by Sheriff's Detectives.
Sheriff Morris says officers are also conducting interviews with witnesses and added that additional forensic experts have been called in to investigate the crime scene.
