(INDIANAPOLIS) - A three vehicle crash on I-70 near Keystone Avenue has claimed the life of a Martinsville man.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a serious crash around 1:15 p.m. on I-70 eastbound at the 83.9 mile marker.
Upon arrival troopers located 30-year-old Marc Cook, of Martinsvile, deceased on the ground outside of the vehicle.
There were no other injuries reported.
Cook's repair van was parked, with a yellow flashing light on top, just behind the disabled pick-up truck on the right shoulder when a Ford Expedition driven by 30-year-old Dangelo Dixson, of Indianapolis, struck the rear of the van.
The collision caused the van to pin Cook, who was outside the vehicle, between the front of the van and the rear of the pick-up.
Investigators determined Dixson was allegedly driving on a suspended license.
Troopers believe alcohol is a factor in this crash and Dixson was transported to Eskenazi Hospital for a blood draw to test for intoxication.
Upon release from Eskenazi, Dixson will be incarcerated at the Marion County Adult Processing Center.
Police say an arrest was made in this case based on probable cause of a crime, however the Marion County Prosecutor's Office will determine actual charges.
This continues to be an ongoing investigation with no further information to release at this time.
