(VINCENNES) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that resulted in a 6-year-old child being flown to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
Derek Blackburn of Vincennes was operating a 90cc four wheeler when he lost control and fell from the machine.
The accident occurred on private property along Upper 11th Street in Vincennes at approximately 4:10 p.m.
Blackburn suffered head injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment. He was then transported to an Indianapolis hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Responding agencies included Knox County EMS, Vincennes Fire Department, Vincennes City Police Department and Indiana Conservation Officers.
