(VINCENNES) - Two Illinois residents were injured Tuesday afternoon in a car-train accident at the Minneapolis Street crossing in Vincennes.
A vehicle driven by 19-year-old Mackenzie Thompson of Lawrenceville, Illinois was crossing the tracks when her vehicle was struck by a CSX train.
Thompson and a passenger, 23-year-old Courtney McDonald of Robinson, Illinois, were injured in the accident.
Thompson complained of chest pain, while McDonald complained of pain to her right arm.
Both were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment and were later released.
Police say the crossing's warning signals were working properly at the time of the collision.
