(LAKEWOOD, NJ.) - Four couples in Lakewood, N.J., were arrested by FBI agents and charged with stealing government funds by hiding large incomes that would have rendered them ineligible for welfare benefits, the Department of Justice said.
Talk Media News reports that in one of the cases, DOJ said Rachel and Mordechai Sorotzkin continued to collect Medicaid benefits after earning in excess of $2 million in 2012 and 2013.
In another case, Mordechai and Jocheved Breskin were charged for collecting $585,000 in Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), HUD (public housing) and SSI (disability) benefits.
