(KINGMAN) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred in the 4200 block S on 500 W in Kingman.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Conservation Officers and other first responders were dispatched to the area for an ATV accident involving injury.
Police say 409-year-old Richard Wyrick, of Indianapolis ,was operating a Honda Rancher four-wheeler and chasing another individual on an ATV when he lost control and collided with a tree. Wyrick was thrown from the ATV and was not wearing a helmet or other protective equipment at the time of the accident.
Wyrick sustained a collapsed lung, bruised kidney, several lacerations to the neck and other lacerations and bruises in the accident.
Wyrick was transported via Stat Flight Helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Other potential injuries are a possibility however Wyrick is in stable condition at this time. Conservation Officers want to stress the importance of wearing a helmet and other protective equipment when riding off road vehicles.
