(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana’s attorney general is warning the public about a phone scam.
The office says it's getting more and more complaints about "grandparent scams.'
The scam often has people asking for gift cards or money transfers to bail a grandchild out of jail, or help a grandchild in a financial bind.
The attorney general says scammers target older folks because they have money and aren't as tech savvy as the younger generations.
