(SULLIVAN CO.) - Sullivan County will welcome visitors from around the world this week as bicyclists participate in the 36th Annual “Race Across America” endurance race.
Each cyclist, with their safety crew following not far behind, will enter Sullivan County crossing the SR 154 Wabash River Bridge over a four day period starting today and running through Saturday.
Contenders in the coast to coast race must average 300 miles per day.
Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom asks motorists to use extra care as they overtake bicyclists and their support vehicles that follow behind.
Deputies will be conducting extra patrols on the route to keep motorists speeds in check.
