(COLUMBUS) - Police arrested a Columbus woman after she was driving while intoxicated and caused a crash injuring a motorcyclist and his passenger Wednesday afternoon.
Columbus police arrested 39-year-old Elizabeth A. Blair on a charge of driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.
The crash was reported around 2 p.m. at the intersection of 25th Street and Wedgewood Drive.
Police say Blair was driving a pickup truck eastbound on 25th Street and was attempting to turn north onto Wedgewood Drive when she struck the motorcycle driven by 60-year-old Jeffrey Welker of Anderson with his passenger 56-year-old Jennifer Welker.
Police say Blair showed signs of impairment at the scene. She was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital with minor injuries and a blood draw. She was then arrested.
Jeffrey Welker was flown by Lifeline helicopter to IU Methodist Hospital with arm and leg fractures. Jennifer Welker was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
