(UNDATED) - Millions of Americans on Social Security can expect about a two percent increase in their monthly payments starting in January.
That works out to around 30-dollars a month for the average recipient according to projections released yesterday by the board of trustees.
The actual cost-of-living adjustments for Social Security and Medicare Part B will be announced this fall.
More than 61 million seniors receive benefits under the program.
The average monthly payment is just over 12-hundred dollars.
