(FLORIDA) - Later this month, the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft will mark the 40th anniversary of their liftoffs—about two weeks apart in 1977—from NASA’s launch site at Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Talk Media News reports, after 40 years, the two spacecraft continue to communicate every day with NASA. Voyager 1, now almost 13 billion miles from Earth, and Voyager 2, almost 11 billion miles away, are far beyond the planets and neither of them will come remotely close to another star for 40,000 years, NASA said.
