Vice President Mike Pence To Visit Anderson

Last updated on Thursday, September 21, 2017

(ANDERSON) - On Friday, September 22, Vice President Mike Pence, joined by Governor Eric Holcomb, Senator Joe Donnelly, Congresswoman Susan Brooks, and Congressman Todd Rokita, will visit Anderson, Indiana to meet with local business leaders and Hoosier families to discuss tax reform.

The Vice President will conclude his visit with formal remarks to the community at the Wylam Center of Flagship East.

U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly released the following statement on Vice President Pence's visit to Anderson, Indiana, to discuss tax reform. Donnelly will join Pence for tomorrow afternoon's visit.

Donnelly said, "It is an honor to welcome the Vice President back home to Indiana. As we discuss tax reform, I believe that any reform effort should include policies that will create new jobs, protect existing jobs, and benefit middle class and working families. That is what I've discussed with President Trump, and I'm pleased he has been supportive of my proposals to prevent the outsourcing of jobs."

During a recent dinner at the White House, Donnelly discussed his proposal to address the outsourcing of American jobs by supporting companies that invest in American workers and penalizing companies that ship jobs to other countries. In February, in a meeting at the White House, Donnelly discussed the End Outsourcing Act with President Trump and the President expressed his support for the proposal. This came after Donnelly introduced the End Outsourcing Act in January.

Donnelly hopes there will be a bipartisan process to reform our tax code in a way that gives working and middle-class families greater economic security.
