(HEBRON) - Indiana Conservation Officers on Wednesday, were called to the area of 185 South 725 West to investigate the death of 53-year-old Denise Fabian of Hebron after she was found by her husband dead underneath an ATV in a pond at approximately 6:40 a.m.
Through the investigation, it was learned her husband returned home from work that evening and found Denise and their four wheeler were not home.
Since it was not uncommon for Denise to take the four wheeler to visit friends, her husband was not immediately concerned. After he woke to go to work Wednesday morning and found she was not home, he became concerned and contacted family to help look for her.
It is believed sometime between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, October 10th Denise Fabian left her residence on a Can Am four wheeler, possibly to look for a family pet. While riding on the four wheeler she proceeded down a hill behind her residence toward a pond.
Due to brush blocking a trail, she attempted to turn around by pulling the four wheeler up a steep incline. The steep angle of the incline caused the four wheeler to rollover backwards into the pond, pinning her underneath.
The investigation is ongoing and foul play is not suspected. Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by the Porter County Sheriff's Office and Porter County Coroner's Office.
