(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Government Publishing Office added two more decades of Congressional Record editions that were published between 1891 and 1911 to its digitized collection.
When the digitizing project is completed, the collection will provide online access to every Congressional Record dating back to its initiation in 1873.
The newly added editions contain debates and proceedings of the 52nd through 61st Congresses. Among historic events during these years was the Spanish-American War, the first flight by the Wright Brothers, and congressional passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act and the Meat Inspection Act.
