(INDIANAPOLIS) — The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) announces Allison Taylor, J.D., will serve as Indiana’s Medicaid Director under the leadership of FSSA Secretary Jennifer Walthall, M.D., M.P.H. Taylor has served as interim Indiana Medicaid Director since May 2017.
"Allison's deep expertise in Indiana health policy and law, as well as her commitment to collaborative relationships and patient-centered program design make her the ideal person to lead Indiana's Medicaid programs," said Dr. Walthall.
Prior to being named interim Medicaid director, Taylor served as FSSA's general counsel since joining the agency in 2015. She advised health care clients on regulatory compliance, reimbursement and enrollment matters at Indianapolis law firm Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman. Earlier in her career, Taylor served as policy and legislative director for the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians.
Taylor graduated from DePauw University and Indiana University's Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She is a graduate of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service series and serves on the board of the Indianapolis Bar Association's health and life sciences committee.
Taylor recently was chosen to participate in the prestigious Medicaid Leadership Institute, a national initiative directed by the Center for Health Care Strategies. She resides with her husband and daughter in Carmel.
