(INDIANAPOLIS) - Tuesday, the Graduation Pathways Panel, a subcommittee of the Indiana State Board of Education, approved recommendations for new graduation pathway requirements to be implemented for the 2019-2020 school year.
"I am very excited for the future of students in Indiana," said Dr. Byron Ernest who chaired the panel. Through ten meetings, we have convened and worked with collaborators to create opportunities for Hoosier students to choose a pathway they believe will help prepare them for post-secondary success."
The collaborators included students, parents and advocates, teachers and counselors, school leadership and technical specialists as well as business and higher education.

The panel, which met between August and November, voted to send these requirements to the Board for their consideration. The Board will have two work sessions and then consider adoption at the December meeting.
