(UNDATED) - A Michigan-based apple producer is recalling four types of apples because they may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can lead to fatal infections.
Jack Brown Produce, Inc. recalled Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious apples processed and shipped by one of its suppliers, Nyblad Orchards, Inc.
The company said the apples were shipped between Dec. 11 and Dec. 16 to stores in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and Georgia under the brand name "Apple Ridge."
Here are the products to look out for:
If you think you may have bought apples included in the recall, check the lot number on the product to confirm.
Find the lot numbers on either the product label or bag clip.
If you have purchased any of the recalled products, contact Jack Brown Produce, Inc. for a full refund. For questions, call 616-887-9568 (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET) and ask for Lisa Ingalls.
