(UNDATED) - The 2018 tax season will be opening soon. In preparation, here are some important and potential money-saving tips to remember.
You may be able to file your taxes for FREE! The INfreefile program gives Hoosier taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $66,000 or less the opportunity to file for free. Nearly 2 million customers will qualify for Indiana free filing in 2018. Both federal and state taxes can be filed through the INfreefile program.
If you qualify, simply choose one of the vendors at www.freefile.dor.in.gov to get started. You need to select a vendor using this site, to ensure you are not charged. Entering a vendor program through their site may result in charges.

You can find printable forms online. You can find all current year forms on our Indiana Current Year Tax Forms website. This includes both individual and business forms.
There are assistance programs for senior and low-income taxpayers. There are many organizations that can assist in preparing individual income taxes.
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program focuses on helping low- and moderate-income people, with special attention to those over age 60.
The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free tax help for customers who qualify.
