(UNDATED) - Earlier today members of the Liberty German family and Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter appeared on a live segment of the Megyn Kelly TODAY show to help keep the double homicide of Liberty German and Abigail Williams in the public eye.
Late last year there was a similar appearance on the Dr. PHIL show.
Also, as part of the families' efforts to develop investigative leads, information has been shared with numerous police agencies across the nation.
One agency in Tennessee shared the information on their Facebook Site and added verbiage that stated "FBI has extended the search into south eastern Tennessee counties including Bledsoe". In fact, this is a NATION WIDE search for the person or persons wanted for the murders of Abby and Libby.
The Bledsoe County Sheriff's Department has updated their Facebook site which now states, "To Clarify this suspect HAS NOT BEEN SEEN IN BLEDSOE COUNTY or any other counties in Tn. It is a nationwide search." The current Facebook post can be found at this link.
The timing of the original Bledsoe County Sheriff's Department Facebook post and the live airing on the Megyn Kelly TODAY show resulted in misinformation being shared on the show and the purpose of this release is to correct the inadvertent misinformation.
Speaking on behalf of all the law enforcement agencies working on this active homicide investigation, we are grateful to the media and other police agencies for sharing the family poster about these murders. We are confident someone knows who was responsible for these murders and we encourage them to come forward with their tip information. The tip phone number is 844-459-5786 and callers may remain anonymous. Tips can also be sent by email to abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com
As this remains an active investigation, the Indiana State Police is not speaking to specifics of any particular tips or leads that are being investigated. To date, more than 26,000 tips have been investigated. At such time that an arrest is made, media will be notified.
