(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Institute for Working Families is hosting an Indiana Wage Gap Presentation & Panel Discussion from 5-7 p.m. with beer/wine/soda, appetizers, and discussion about Indiana’s gender pay gap.
Desserts will be available to men for $1 and women for $0.74.
Officials will share findings from our new report: Wages, Wealth, & Poverty: Where Hoosier Women Stand and Ways Our State Can Close the Gaps.
Then, have an outstanding panel to discuss key elements of the report:
Demetrees Hutchins, Ph.D. Indiana University School of Education - IUPUI will talk about the foundations of gender norms and bias in childhood as well as what K-12 systems and parents can do to make a difference.
Quincy Sauer, Labor and Employment Law Attorney will tackle your employment law questions, from how to pursue an equal pay claim to what constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace.
Sarah Waddle, Director of AARP Indiana will cover what women should be thinking about in order to enjoy security in retirement, and what you might consider if you foresee working later in life.
Kate Kunk, RN, Caregiving Options Counselor CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions will help our audience think through adult caregiving from employee and employer perspectives and share valuable resources for the "sandwich generation."
Colleen Yeakle, Coordinator of Prevention Initiatives, Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence will make connections between pay equity, caregiver supports, and domestic violence.
