Applications Due Feb. 10 For High School Pitch Competition

Last updated on Sunday, February 4, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - This year, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Ball State University and the Indiana Department of Education are teaming up to sponsor a high school student entrepreneurship competition.

Innovate WithIN is a statewide pitch competition for Hoosier students who have an idea for a business, product, service or other venture that helps Indiana sustain its economic momentum. Participants will receive feedback from experienced professionals while competing against like-minded students from across the state. After completing video submissions and regional competitions, one innovator, or team of innovators, from 9 regions will be invited to Indianapolis to pitch their idea to a panel of judges for a chance to win $10,000, an internship, mentoring services and college tuition - up to $100,000 total.

One of Governor Eric. J. Holcomb's five pillars is to develop a 21st century skilled and ready workforce. The Innovate WithIN pitch competition will help foster an entrepreneurial spirit among our leaders of tomorrow, empowering Hoosier students to hone their innovative thinking. We're excited to witness the many talents our young Hoosier entrepreneurs have to showcase and are confident that they will play a leading role in Indiana's future success.

During the first round, students are asked to submit a video pitch and executive summary of their idea by Feb. 10. Regional competitions will take place March 5 to 9 and March 12 to 16 at locations around the state. The final competition will be April 9 in Indianapolis.
