(INDIANAPOLIS) - As millions of taxes are being filed this season, the Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) reminds customers of the two easy and convenient ways to check refund statuses.
Taxpayers can go online to use the Refund Status interactive tool, which allows customers to check their status at any time. Taxpayers can simply visit the DOR website at www.in.gov/dor, and click "Get Started" under "Check the Status of Your Refund."
Don't have internet access? Taxpayers also have the option of calling the automated refund telephone line at 317-233-4018.
To access refund information by either method, taxpayers will need to have the following information handy:
"While we are always just one call away, it is beneficial for taxpayers to know they can check on their refund status at any time through our two interactive tools," said DOR Commissioner Adam Krupp. "By utilizing either of these options, we can ensure our customers can access their status in a timely fashion, without having to call or visit a DOR office."
Taxpayers should give at least two weeks of processing time for electronically submitted tax filings and four weeks for paper tax filings. Some tax filings may take longer to process due to additional information needed, incomplete tax forms or errors.
For taxpayers that selected the direct deposit option for their refund, a credit or deposit will be listed on their bank statement. If a refund has been processed but has not been deposited, the customer should contact their bank for clarification.
