(UNDATED) - The Congressional Management Foundation is proud to announce the finalists in its Democracy Awards program that recognizes non-legislative achievement and performance in congressional offices.
CMF created these awards to highlight the best functioning House and Senate offices; to provide examples of innovative practices for other offices to implement; and to enhance and improve the public understanding and trust in Congress. Below is the list of finalists. Click here
for a few details on their accomplishments and why they were selected.
Constituent Service - Honors offices for their outstanding practices or achievements acting as ombudsmen with the federal government or responding to constituent requests and inquiries
Innovation - Recognizes offices employing unique or innovative methods in their constituent interactions, communications, or office operations
"Life in Congress" Workplace Environment - Highlights offices that have established both formal policies and informal cultures that enhance the work-life fit and professional development of their staffs
Transparency and Accountability - Rewards offices that provide clear and relevant information on their work and publicly acknowledge metrics for that performance
An outside review committee primarily comprised of former Members of Congress and former congressional staff will pick the top Republican and top Democrat in each category. These finalists and the winners, along with the Members and staffer chosen for Lifetime Achievement Award, will be honored at a ceremony on July 12 on Capitol Hill.
Congratulations to all the finalists. The nominations for the 2019 Democracy Awards opens on July 30th.
