(UNDATED) - If you have visited an Applebee’s in northern Indiana recently you may want to check your bank card statements.
The operator of more than 160 Applebee's across the country says they recently discovered malware on their redit card-handling equipment.
RHM Franchising said the malware captured payment card information and might also have affected some purchases.
Hackers may have been able gain access to names and credit/debit card numbers, codes and expiration dates.
The malware appeared in some stores as early as November, 2017. Their Indiana Applebee's stores were affected between December 6, 2017 and January 2, 2018.
If you discover a discrepancy on your account, you're asked to immediately notify the issuing bank. Rules vary, but credit card rules generally don't hold cardholders responsible for such charges.
RHM has a call center available weekdays at (888) 764-7357 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern.
You'll find a full list of affected stores at RHM's website
