(JASPER) - A Jasper woman is facing various charges after slamming a car door on a police officer’s fingers.
It happened Saturday night in the parking lot of Holiday Liquors after police arrested the driver of a car, Lorena Castro, for driving while intoxicated.
After Castro was taken to jail, police say a passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Brenda Juarez, who was released by police, became uncooperative.
While an officer was searching the car, Juarez attempted to gain entry to the vehicle after being told that she could not.
Another officer attempted to stop her and during a struggle Juarez slammed the officer's fingers in the car door.
Juarez was arrested for battery on a public safety official, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.
