(FREMONT) - Authorities say the FBI and police in Michigan have joined an investigation into the death of a man found slain in a recreation area in northeastern Indiana.
Indiana State Police have said the body found April 13 by workers at Trine State Recreation Area in Steuben County was identified as 29-year-old Nigel Jerome Headley of Lansing, Michigan. An autopsy determined he died of multiple blunt force traumatic injuries to the head.
The Lansing Police Department said Tuesday that it's joined the investigation along with the FBI and Michigan State Police.
Indiana State Police, Indiana conservation officers and the Steuben County coroner's office already were working together on the investigation into Headley's death. Anyone with information that might be helpful in the investigation is asked to contact police.
