(UNDATED) - More people in Indiana are using synthetic marijuana because it’s cheaper and easier to get, but what you may not know is that if you’re not careful, using it could be deadly.
Dr. Kris Nanagas with IU Health warns synthetic marijuana laced with rat poison is making rounds around the Midwest. She says the bad fake drugs are coming from around the Chicago area and that they have seen several people in Indiana need treatment after smoking it.
Nanagas says rat poison has blood thinning chemicals in it and if smoked can cause fatal side affects such as severe bleeding. If you have smoked synthetic pot recently that came from Chicago, she recommends that you get tested.
