(UNDATED) - Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is demanding that Rep. Todd Rokita take down yard signs giving the false impression the president endorsed the Indiana Republican’s Senate bid.
That's according to two people with direct knowledge of the presidential campaign's demand who spoke to The Associated Press. The two spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter.
The Rokita signs tout an endorsement made by two volunteers who ran Trump's 2016 Indiana campaign.
The signs proclaim in large white letters "Endorsed by Trump/Pence," with smaller letters below adding "2016 Indiana Team Leaders."
Rokita spokesman Nathan Brand says the campaign doesn't "comment on yard sign strategy."
