(MARION CO.) - Indiana firefighters in Marion County say there wasn’t much they could do for a woman who showed up at their station wanting treatment for her pet raccoon.
Fire Captain Mike Pruitt says the woman rang the doorbell many times at 2 a.m. last week.
She said the raccoon had been exposed to "too much marijuana".
"The raccoon was very lethargic," ," Pruitt says. "As much as we love animals, there wasn't much they could do."
Though she wanted help for the animal, fire officials say they had to let time take its course and have the raccoon sleep it off.
"We do appreciate that our citizens turn to us in their toughest moments for help," Pruitt added. "Sorry we couldn't do more."
