WWII Vet's '67 Mustang Found, Restored By Community

Last updated on Tuesday, April 3, 2018

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A World War II veteran in Indiana is being reunited with a car he thought was lost forever.

Harry Donovan bought a brand new 1967 Ford Mustang for his wife. After she died, he wanted to restore the classic car in her memory.

But the man he picked to restore the vehicle scammed him.

A retired Indianapolis Police officer found the car several years later stripped of its parts.

The people at The Finer Details automotive restoration shop in Danville heard of Donovan's plight, and volunteered to restore the car at no cost.

Several businesses donated parts, and after nearly a year, the 97-year-old Donovan has his prized Mustang back.
