(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Bicycle Trails Task Force will have three subcommittee meetings on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Ballroom in The Garrison at Fort Harrison State Park at 6002 N. Post Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46216.
The Funding Subcommittee will meet at 9:00 a.m., the Safety Subcommittee will meet at 1 p.m. and the Trail Corridors Subcommittee will meet at 3 p.m..
The Indiana Bike Trails Task Force was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2017 per House Enrolled Act No. 1174. The Bike Trails Task Force was created to develop actionable concepts to connect existing bike trails throughout Indiana and to estimate the cost of the concept. By July 1, 2019, the task force will present at least six innovative ways to fund the connections to the existing bicycle trails and will prepare a timeline that shows the phases of completion per each funding method. In addition the report will include recommend changes to Indiana law to increase bicycle safety on trails and roadways.
