(JEFFERSON CO.) - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says the driver who struck and killed 18-year-old Grant Adams early Sunday as he rode a bicycle on U.S. 421 between Old State Road 62 and the roundabout has turned himself in.
When police arrived they found Adams unresponsive in the roadway. He was flown to Norton Hospital in Louisville, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver that struck Adams fled the scene.
Later Sunday, 25-year-old Nicholas Griffin, turned himself in. He was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Toxicology test are pending. Griffin could be charges with other crimes depending on the results of that test.
