(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is standing by his call for Attorney General Curtis Hill to resign. Hill’s lawyers have questioned whether the State Inspector General can produce a fair and impartial investigation of the groping claims.
Lori Torres was appointed to that job by Holcomb. But when asked if he controls Torres, the governor responded with a flat "no...period." He insists Torres is independent.
He says he appointed her, but he cannot relieve her of duty.
As for any possible criminal charges, Holcomb says he's leaving that up to the Inspector General and the special prosecutor.
