(INDIANAPOLIS) - A yearly legislative review is examining how Indiana lawmakers tackle major issues.
Scott Greenberger, editor of the Pew Charitable Trust's "Stateline", says sexual harassment, immigration, gun violence, unions and health care are at the top of legislators' minds.
Indiana is also one of the states that took steadfast action addressing the backlog of rape kits.
This year, lawmakers maintained the traditional stance of being an anti-union state.
When it comes to gun violence, lawmakers tried to enact laws that would allow carrying a gun without a permit and guns on school campuses, but those measures failed to pass.
Currently, Indiana officials are deciding on whether to create a new ICE immigration detention center in Elkhart County.
