Annual Report Highlights Work Of Indiana Supreme Court

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Supreme Court annual report (July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018) is now available online.

The annual report provides statistical case information as well as details about the administrative work of the Court and its affiliated agencies. Read the report at courts.in.gov/supreme/files/1718report.pdf.

The five justices considered nearly 850 cases, heard oral arguments in 56 cases, and handed down 71 majority opinions. In 2017-2018, 84 percent of Court opinions were unanimous. A variety of Supreme Court agency initiatives and statistics are also detailed in the report.

By the end of the fiscal year:

Nearly 80% of the state's caseload was in Odyssey (the state record system)
$8.5 million in initiative grants were distributed to counties
Over 6 million documents were e-filed statewide
Statewide e-filing implementation reached 90% completion
485 applicants passed the Indiana bar exam
457 tweets highlighted opinions and other court announcements
214 days of judicial educational opportunities were offered
