(EVANSVILLE) - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Evansville has suspended a priest after receiving a report of sexual misconduct that allegedly occurred decades ago.
The diocese announced Monday that the Rev. Dave Fleck is prohibited from public ministry while an investigation is pending. The nature of the reported misconduct wasn't disclosed.
It says the 69-year-old Fleck has denied the claim.
Diocesan spokesman Tim Lilley tells the Evansville Courier & Press the diocese reported the information it received to the Knox County prosecutor and state's Child Protective Services hotline.
Fleck has served churches and schools in Vincennes, Bicknell, Petersburg, Montgomery, Oakland City and Posey County,
Fleck doesn't appear to have a published telephone number and he could not be reached for comment.
The Indianapolis Archdiocese recently suspended two priests after receiving similar reports.
