Last updated on Thursday, September 13, 2018

(EVANSVILLE) - Community leaders in Vanderburgh County, have collaborated to create an online resource for crime victims. The Vanderburgh County Crime Victim Resources (VCCVR) website is a collective source of agencies and organizations within and around Vanderburgh County, that are willing to participate in assisting crime victims personally and within the criminal justice system.

A community press conference was held at the Civic Center on September 12, 2018, to unveil and demo the website. The resource is free for victims of crime as well as the agencies and organizations listed on the site.

"The website is a central hub of information and services that victims can access at any time. It's designed to guide a victim to the resources they need, and it allows local support groups to connect with those that need the services they offer," said Sheriff Dave Wedding.

The Vanderburgh County Crime Victim Resources is a community collaboration initiative created by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, the Evansville Police Department, Vanderburgh County Prosecutor, and EXTEND GROUP, an Evansville-based marketing and consulting group.
